The eight female swimmers will be competing in the second heat for a spot in the semi-finals comprising nine athletes. Dumbuya has been training at the FINA Aquatic  Excellence Centre in Senegal courtesy of a scholarship from Swimming’s world governing body.
The youngster who was part of team Sierra Leone in the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, is hoping to improve on her previous personal record to have a chance of making it to the semifinals of her category after her two colleagues Joshua Wise and Isha Kanu both finished 5th on Friday, 29th July 2022 with 29.71 in the Men’s 50m Butterfly and 48.66 in the Women’s 50m Breaststroke respectively.
With her recent exposure to modern facilities and professional training with qualified training experts at the FINA Aquatics Excellence Centre in Senegal, the teenager is expected to reach top heights in this year’s Games, hence Sierra Leoenas are looking forward to seeing her best performance.
